HJ. is a 46-year-old man diagnosed with Burkitt's lymphoma 4 months ago. He has received three of six chemotherapy courses and is seen today at his physician's office with a complaint of malaise and fever. He is found to have splenomegaly on examination. Chest x-ray (CXR) demonstrates patchy infiltrates in bilateral lower lobes, right greater than left. He was sent for a CT of the abdomen, which showed metastatic disease in the liver, spleen, and pancreas. He is admitted to the hospital with progressive disease. 1.
