Q1. A company makes screws with a target diameter of 1.250 inch and a desired tolerance range of 1.245 inch to 1.255 inch. Screws that fall into this range (including the end points of the range) can be sold for full price to a large hardware store. However, the company also can sell screws for a discount to a smaller hardware store if they fall between 1.230 inch and 1.245 inch or between 1.255 inch and 1.270 inch. If a screw has a diameter less than or equal to 1.230 inch, or greater than or equal to 1.270 inch, it must be rejected. (a) Input the following screw diameters in cells Al through A5 of an Excel worksheet: 1.251, 1.242, 1.231, 1.229, 1.277 inch. (b) In cell B1, create an IF function that determines whether the screws can be sold to a large hardware store, can be sold to the small hardware store or must be rejected. Tell the user "Sell to large hardware store," "Sell to small hardware store," or "Reject." Copy this formula in cells B2 through B5.
