Discussion: Histogram
Different parts of the world have experienced catastrophicdroughts over the past 10 years. Imagine you are studying theamount of rainfall received over a set period of time in order tohelp an area find solutions during times of water shortage. Youmight collect data on rainfall patterns on a monthly basis for ayear. Then, chart your data to provide a graphical image of monthlyrainfall rates. The resulting histogram indicates a range ofrainfall. This week, you will generate your own histograms usingdata from the Study Habits dataset provided in the LearningResources. To Prepare: Review the Learning Resources Salkind coursetext and the document Working With Datasets Job Aid for informationabout how to complete the tasks identified in the To Prepare andPost activities. Practice creating histograms using the Quick GuideData Set "Q55. HISTOGRAM.xlsx" and the Check Your UnderstandingData Sets "QS55a" and "QS55b". Choose a continuous variable fromthe Study Habits dataset and use Excel to create a histogram ofthis variable. Note: The dataset contains missing data. For thisDiscussion, do not clean the missing data. Review the Working WithDatasets Job Aid for instructions on “How to Post a Visual Displayto the Discussion Board”, as you cannot copy and paste thehistogram directly into the Discussion Board.
By Day 4 (Post First) Post your histogram and interpret it interms of normality. Explain your reasoning. Note: Refer to theLearning Resources for assistance.
