a) What is the relationship between the teaching of Galatians and James?
i) Galatians appeals to Abraham for authority and James appeals instead to Moses.
ii) While Paul speaks of “works of the Law,” James describes “works of faith.”
iii) Galatians teaches that salvation is received by faith and James teaches that salvation is earned through human works.
iv) The church chose to prioritize the teachings of Galatians over that of James
b) What is the apostle Paul’s view on the Old Testament law in the book of Galatians?
i) The law is to be completely rejected because of it is full legalism.
ii) The law guided God’s people until the time of Christ, but now Jesus is our ultimate authority.
