As the Sun ages it will eventually become a red giant with a cooler surface temperature than it has at present. From the EM radiation point of view, assuming the Sun's net output of photons reaching the Earth is unchanged (not a valid assumption, but suspend disbelief for a moment), how will people's risk of skin cancer be affected? Higher risk of skin cancer because as a red giant, the Sun will be larger and consequently the high-energy ions in the corona will be closer to the Earth. Lower risk of skin cancer because the Sun's cooler blackbody spectrum will have a lower ionizing radiation component. No change in the risk of skin cancer because the number of photons reaching Earth will be unchanged. The risk of skin cancer can be high or lower depending on how much cooler the Sun's surface temperature gets.
