For the first time in many years a person performs a strenuous resistance training workout involving a lot of squats and lunges, and two days later they are very sore, weak, and swollen. What has happened? Specifically what type of muscle actions are most likely to blame for this? On a tissue/cellular level what is thought to cause this? If they perform this same workout a few weeks later what may happen and what is this called? ANOUUD
