The major difference between the function of myoglobin and hemoglobin is that Myoglobin stores O₂ and hemoglobin transports O2 Myoglobin transports O₂ and hemoglobin stores O2. Myoglobin transports O₂ to the tissues and hemoglobin transports CO₂ to the lungs. Myoglobin transports CO₂ to the tissues and hemoglobin transports O₂ to the lungs.
