1. Review one of your patients' labs that you cared for during your clinical experience. Review the labs and identify reasons why it is important to monitor these labs for this patient's diagnosis/reason for stay/hospitalization. Additionally, discuss problems that may arise if the patient does not monitor their labs and follow the recommendations of the nurse and or provider. (AN example of this may include a patient that is seen for a blood clot. The patient is not taking their coumadin or having their labs monitored. To meet this assignment, provide an explanation on why it is important to monitor the patients INR levels, as well as, the impact patient adherence to taking their coumadin has on the patient's labs).
