Patricia, age 45, holds a position as an acting general managerin Mega Manufacturing Berhad. She has been working in her currentcompany for 20 years. She is very experienced and capable althoughshe only graduated from high school. Due to her inadequate academicqualification level, her current company refuses to promote her tobe a general manager. Recently, her company’s rival (AkasiInternational Manufacturing Berhad) has offered her the position ofgeneral manager with a higher salary. However, Patricia does notreally want to accept the offer. She has a good relationship withher colleagues and feels happy working in her current company.However, at the same time, she feels the company devalues hercontributions.
