Humid air is to be conditioned in a constant pressure process at 1 atm from 30°C and 70% relative humidity (state 1) to 24°C, and 40% relative humidity (state 3). First, the air at state 1 enters the cooling with dehumidification unit with a volumetric flow rate of 50 m³/min, where it passes over cooling coils and some water vapor is condensed. Saturated moist air (state 2) and condensate streams exit the dehumidifier at the same temperature. the moist air at state 2 then passes over heating coils to achieve the final state (state 3). ((No interpolation, use closest values from tables)) ((1 atm = 101.325 kPa)) a) Sketch the psychrometric diagram for the process (next page). Indicate states 1, 2, and 3. (5 points) Use the psychrometric chart (textbook or next page) to determine: b) the absolute humidity, specific enthalpy in kl per kg dry air, and dew point temperature at state 1, (5 points) c) the temperature and the relative humidity of the moist air exiting the dehumidifier (state 2), and (5 points) d) the absolute humidity and specific enthalpy in kl per kg dry air at the final state (state 3). (5 points) e) Determine the rate water is condensed in the dehumidifier. (10 points) f) Determine the net rate of heat transfer for the entire process in kJ. (10 points)
