5. (6 pts) In passenger cars, prime mover is the component that generates the shaft power, which is transferred to the wheels through the transmission and the driveline. Although prime mover produces all the shaft power, why are we using transmission (gearbox) to deliver this power to the wheels? Please explain your answer shortly as we discussed during our classes.
