For this experiment, the diameters of the two balls D1
and D2 were measured and recorded using the micrometer. The two
balls were then placed inside a ring with gauge blocks stacked
beside it. The dial indicator was then used to measure the height H
as shown in the photo. With all this data recorded, the method can
be used to calculate D as shown on the photo.
