Can someone please explain why something like this:
[ 2 1 0 0 0 ;
0 2 0 0 0 ;
0 0 2 1 0 ;
0 0 0 2 1 ;
0 0 0 0 2 ]
And all other permutations of 1's above the 2's are notreasonable Jordon canonical forms?
Thank you!
1. Determine all possible Jordan canonical forms for a linear operator T: V → V whose character- istic polynomial is (x - 2)5. Solution: [2 1 2 [2 2 N 2 2 2 21 2 2 9 2 1 21 [21 2 21 2 2 2 2 2 2 1 2 21 2 2 1 2 21 2 1 2 2 2 2 1 2 1 21 21 2
