Grandma Edell is not able to work outside the home due to the severity of her Diabetes. The family primarily eats inexpensive processed foods and grandma's 'soul food'. Currently their stove is not working and, as a result, they are eating more fast food. The family does not own a car, their neighborhood is not near any stores with fresh fruit and vegetables but there is a McDonalds and Taco Johns nearby, which they frequently visit. His mom relies on public transportation to get to and from work and has little time to grocery shop. This family and many individuals in their neighborhood are obese.
