In this discussion forum, we can share and discuss our examplesof World dance that we've found on the web. For each of thecountries discussed in the lecture, find one representativeexample. Pick your favorite and post the URL here following theguidelines below:
Name the video by country and title/style when possible. Explainwhy you chose the video. Then describe the movement concepts in thevideo. Pay particular attention to the use of traveling andstepping in your chosen style. How do the dancers step?Travel? What type of energy do they use? What parts of their feet?Shoes? Ground? Be specific and do your best to explain howthe elements of traveling and stepping reflect the importance andmeaning of the dance or the value set of the culture.
What Actions stand out in your video choice? Are theremoments of Stillness that catch your attention? Incorporatethe use of these elements of dance, in addition to traveling andstepping, into your discussion.This forum extends for both modules of World Dance, which includesnot only tribal and folk dance forms but also Asian and classicalworld dance forms.
