Your client is turned to a wall and appears to be speaking to himself. You approach him and ask if everything is okay. He turns and says to you, "I am talking to my ancestors. I am asking for their forgiveness. I have done wrong and the reason I am stuck here is because I am being punished." How would a culturally competent nurse handle this situation?
