When studying the spread of COVID, two approaches could be taken: A. quantitative Using the approach, the researchers would look at the personal experiences and actions of those at risk of getting COVID and reach a conclusion about the spread of the virus. B. qualitative Using the approach would mean researchers would look at which individuals and groups got COVID and by using numbers would reach a conclusion based on where the most cases were reported. Using this approach, the investigator usually just questions participants to collect data. Using this approach, much of the study analysis is performed using words instead of numbers, to detect patterns or themes. Using this approach, the researcher has an idea of the answer but conducts the study by manipulating variables in order to prove (or disprove) a theory. Using this approach, the reacher has control groups and experimental groups. Using this approach, the investigators often use random selection of participants to help the results be unbiased.
