An 84-year-old woman residing in a residential care facility.
She is generally very active in the facility. She presented in the
ER with pneumonia. This is her fourth admission with pneumonia over
the past 4 months. The physician is concerned if the patient will
be able to recover to her previous level of function and
well-being. The patient complains of fatigue with a loss of
appetite which has resulted in weight loss. The patient has a
long-term history of HTN x 20 years, GERD, and recurrent
pneumonia.
The patient's height is 62 inches and her current weight is 94
lbs. Her usual body weight is 120 lbs.
1. Determine the patient's energy and protein needs,
calculate a TB feeding for the patient using Vital 1.5
