Extra Credit (10 pts): Suppose 4.000 g of dry soil is heated in strong hydrochloric and g nitric acid for two hours. The soil plus acid is then filtered into to a 100 mL volumetric flask and brought to volume. Using a volumetric pipet, 3 mL of the solution in the first volumetric flask is transferred to a second 100 mL volumetric flask and brought to volume. The concentration of iron in the second volumetric flask is 0.0251 g iron/L solution. What is the concentration of iron in the soil sample as w/w %?
