Imagined Community is a concept that was created by
Anthropologist Benedict Anderson. He argued that the concept
of NATION is not real. It is a community that is
constructed by a group of people's imagination. This imagination
was first created by "print capitalism" as European Nation-States
start to develop their own national print languages.
Please discuss the concept of “imagined communities" in today's
American context. Do you believe that the modern lifestyle in
today's America foster or challenges our imagination as "one
nation", a nation-state, or the development of nationalism? You can
formulate your answer in the context of the popular culture and
Internet age - may it be Internet, clubhouse, metaverse, or your
personal Instagram account.
