These plants ensure that great attention is paid to quality by preventing the release of any defective parts, cost reduction to manufacture products inexpensively as possible and ensuring safety by that no accidents occur in such work places. Toyota’s plants respond to changing market conditions such as low birth rates, aging population and maturity of the market in Japan as well the globalisation of the industry. Analyse how Toyota has applied the use of Operations Management in the manufacture of automobiles. Justify factors which have supported the dominance of Toyota in the manufacture of automobiles in the last 100 years. Explain why services have become popular in the manufacturing and why Toyota would benefit greatly in the use of services.
