A long (i.e. 2D) Quonset hut of radius R = 21 m is buried in the ground so that the sides intersect the ground at B = + 84º. The hut is in a high, steady wind of 8 m/s at sea level (air density is 1.225 kg/m3). The flow is initally attached along the surface of the hut, but then separates at Ysep = 66° on the leeward (i.e. downstream) side. Under these conditions the gauge pressure (pressure above atmospheric, Pgauge = p – Patmosphere ) over the hut's surface is given by — P gauge SpV [1 – 4 cos? (0)], – B505 Ysep 0, 7sep <<B. The pressure inside the hut can be assumed to be atmospheric (i.e. gauge pressure equals zero). Find the lift and drag force per unit span due to the pressure distribution along the surface of the hut. (Hint: S cos3 (0)do sin (0) +C) sin”(@) Give your answers to two decimal places.
