Example-13 : A simply supported rectangular beam of size 250 mm x 500 mm effective depth is reinforced with 4 - 18 mm dia M.S. bars as tension reinforcement, beam is subjected to factored shear force of 160 kN. at support. Design shear reinforcement with two bent up bars at 45° from tensile steel and 8 mm dia. M.S. stirrups grade of concrete M-20.
