Minute Paper: Choose one of the following: 1). Scenario one: You are in a space elevator at the altitude given near the end of today's MP. What would your weight be (assume m = 60 kg) if you were accelerating upward at 5.63 m/s2? What about if you were accelerating downward from the same altitude at 11.4 m/s2? Don't forget direction in your answer. 2). Scenario two: What would the acceleration on a space elevator car (at the altitude given above) have to be in order for your weight to be 1.5 times what it normally is? One catch: the car is moving at an angle of 8° w.r.t. the vertical (a drawing is really important here). Don't forget direction in your answer.
