The field of a mirror is the part of space in which a point object must be located for its image to be seen by an eye looking at the mirror. 1. Features of the image and field of a mirror: investigation with a big spoon a. Look at the image of a pencil in a spoon (considered as a spherical mirror), considering both sides. Move the pencil along the optical axis and describe the image: inverted or upright, magnified or reduced? b. Compare the field of a converging mirror and the field of a diverging mirror. 2. Compare the field of the 3 mirrors (plane, concave and convex) for a given position of the eye, where the eye is located on the optical axis at point 0: you will consider the rays that after reflection go through the edge of the mirror and reach point 0. you will then draw the first leg of the ray, before reflection. The two incident rays obtained are defining the field of view of the mirror. (A) 十一十--- S S FF
