The probability that someone has a disease is 0.05,
given a survey of the population. A test is developed and
preliminary
trials indicate that the probability of a positive
diagnosis using the test, given that someone already has the
disease is 0.80.
If someone does not have the disease, there is still a
0.40 probability that the test has a positive result.
What is the probability that someone has the disease
given that the test is positive?
