TXC Ltd conducted a campus recruitment process at IBS last year,
in which few
candidates took part. The HR department of the company observed
that the for any
candidate, the probability of getting selected was such that the
average number of
candidates selected in the process would have been 10.54 and the
standard deviation of
the distribution was 2.0013 last year. Find the following if, for
any candidate, the same
probability of getting selected, governs this year’s recruitment
process:
a) The probability that at most 3 candidates will get selected
if total number of
candidates is 20 this year.
b) The probability that at least 3 candidates will get selected if
total number of
candidates is 12 this year.
