The fo ing data are obtained in a test for a two-cylinder, four-stroke engine connected to a rope brake dynamometer. Bore = 60 mm Stroke = 100 mm Engine speed = 5000 rpm Fuel consumption = 0.07 kg/min Calorific value of fuel = 44000 kJ/kg The difference in tension on either side of brake pulley = 400 N Brake circumference = 0.3 m Relative efficiency in terms of indicated power= 50% Clearance volume per cylinder is 60 cc. Calculate the following. (1) Brake-thermal efficiency (ii) Indicated thermal efficiency (iii) Indicated mean effective pressure (iv) Brake specific fuel consumption.
