5. A 10 m long stainless steel (AISI 302) pipe delivering saturated water at 200°C is exposed to ambient air at 20 °C. The internal and external diameter is 10 cm and 12 cm, respectively. The convection heat transfer coefficient at the internal and external surface is 200 W/m²K and 20 W/m2.K, respectively. (20 points) (1) Find the heat loss from water to ambient air through this pipe and external surface temperature. You can assume the temperature of the saturated water flowing through this tube is constant of 200 °C. You can find the property of the stainless steel at 400 K. (10 points) (2) If this pipe is installed in a workshop with young college students and technical staff working around. The space between this pipe and ground is about 1.5 meter. People have to walk under this hot pipe everyday. As a professional engineer, please comments if this design has any potential impact on shop operation, unnecessary loss of thermal energy delivered, unnecessary extra cost for shop operation, and any safety concerns. Any suggestions for the improvement of this design to address/mitigate the safety and operation cost? (10 Points)
