I ran speedtest on my laptop at home and the results showed
28.4 Mbps. See below
Then, I used my laptop to download a large file from a server on
campus using FileZilla and I got 2.4 MB/s download rate. Please see
the image below and the highlighted section:
What is the problem with the first value of 28.4
Mbps versus the latter 2.4 MB/s?
The former is the sustainable rate and the latter is
the average rate.
The former is the maximum rate and the latter is
the median rate.
They are the same/identical; it is just a different
reporting measurement unit.
The former is the upstream and the latter is the downstream
rate.
The former is the throughput and the latter is the
goodput.
The former is the goodput and the latter is
the throughput.
