We wish to determine whether there is a relationship between the gender of a teenager, and their preferred brand of cellphone. A survey of 200 teenagers produced the following results: PREFERRED BRAND Gender Apple Nokia Huawei TOTAL Female 30 35 33 98 Male 37 31 34 102 TOTAL 67 66 67 200 Perform an appropriate test at a 5% level of significance to determine whether there is a relationship between the gender of teenagers and the preferred brand of cellphone. The marketing manager of a shower gel manufacturing company wishes to know whether the three different shower gel fragrances that they produce are equally popular. A random sample of 600 consumers were asked to choose their favourite from the fragrances. The results were as follows: TYPE OF FRAGRANCE Tea Tree Lemon Citronella Total Number of consumers 182 209 209 600 Using a 10% significance level, test whether the fragrances are equally popular. The following table indicates the ages of a sample of female employees of People Plus Pty, and the corresponding monthly income of each employee (in thousands of rands).
