Last week, Amy Wong saw a HK$20,000 electric massage chair in
the Excellent Quality shop. She purchased the machine and on
returning home she charged the battery of the massage chair
according to the manufacturer’s manual.
She then left her flat to buy some food at the neighbouring
supermarket. On her return after one hour, the flat was on fire and
resulted in destruction of all her personal possessions worth
$30,000 because the battery was overheated and explored.
Yesterday, Amy went to the shop to request for refund the purchase
price or seek a replacement chair but the shop refused all Amy's
requests. Amy wants to sue the retailer shop to claim back the
HK$50,000
