When 20.610 g of a hydrocarbon fuel (contains only C and H) was
vaporized in a 5000 mL container at 110 degrees celsius the
pressure was found to be 864 Torr. In a separate experiment 1.073 g
of the fuel was combusted (burnt in oxygen) to form carbon dioxide
and water only. The carbon dioxide formed weighed 3.303 g and the
water released was 1.534 g. Determine the molecular formula of the
fuel. Assume the fuel behaves like an ideal gas.
