5) Consider a unity feedback system whose open loop transfer function is given as K G(s) = s(s + 102 Design a lag compensator using the frequency response method (i.e. Bode diagram) such that the Phase Margin (P.M.) is 65 degrees and static velocity error constant K, = 20. The phase plot of G(s) is given so that you can plot it accurately for your design. You can use it in your design plots. a) First draw the gain adjusted magnitude plot (G1 = KG(S)) along with the phase plot. Find a( s the the Phase Margin of the gain adjusted system and show that it is not sufficient. b)Then design a lag compensator with showing the compensated system's magnitude and phase plots (dashed line or colored) on the same graph paper. Follow the design guidelines discussed in the class and determine the lag compensator's break frequencies. You can choose your compensator zero approx. one decade below the new gain crossover frequency. Show the critical points (i.e. new gain crossover, required attenuation etc.) clearly on your graphs.
