(a) An Amplitude Modulated transmitter has a carrier power of 13 kW and transmits 15 kW when modulated with a single sine wave. i. Calculate the modulation index. ii. If the carrier is simultaneously modulated with another sine wave at 45 percent modulation, calculate the total transmitted power. iii. With the aid of a diagram, use Modulation Index, m, to explain the difference between under-modulated wave and over-modulated wave. iv. Describe the problem that could be caused by over modulation.
