Microorganisms are ubiquitous and diverse. They have
different characteristics that place them in different taxonomic
groups. An understanding of these groups supports infection
management and informs the patient care plan. Describe the
similarities (nucleic acid, cell membrane/lipid structure,
protein/amino acids) and differences (cellular structures) among
the different microorganisms (eg. prokaryotes vs. eukaryotes).
