The project team at a long-term care facility found two
peer-reviewed articles on the impact of outdoor garden space on
resident’s emotional expressiveness. One of these studies was
conducted in a long-term care facility in Buffalo, New York, and
the other in an assisted living facility in San Diego, California.
Unfortunately, the studies have conflicting results: the
Buffalo study found that residents became more expressive, while
the San Diego study found that residents became more introverted.
What should the team do next?
