ALS is a progressive disease, which can offer nurses an amazing opportunity to support patient and family. Working with patients with neuromuscular disorders and be very rewarding, and emotionally challenging as well. As nurses, our nursing care is outlined using both medical orders (medication and treatment administrations written by the healthcare provider) and nursing care plans. (You are being asked to create a nursing care plan for only one of the discussion questions in the DQ assignment).
For your Second Instructor Post, create a three part nursing diagnosis statement (NANDA DX> related to> as evidenced by). Include two nursing interventions with rationale to treat the diagnosis. Include how will you measure or evaluate improvement for each nursing intervention. Can organize your post the following way, if that helps. I ask that you design a diagnosis statement, interventions with rationale and evaluation that is not one of the three included in Nursing Care Plans listed in the Williams textbook. Rather design your own.
Nursing Rationale why this would help
Evaluation- How will I measure if the patient is benefitting from this intervention. Ex. O2 sat level will be within norm.
