Pt is most likely suffering from an ischaemic stroke: Assess the Abe's of the pt. suttig any vomit or secretions. If Spinal injury is not suspected place pt in recovery position If Spinal injury is suspected perform for thrust maneuver extremities for sms. Time is Brain - Rapid transport. open airway, and provide SMA wlpt in supine positionAssess 2) You are dispatched for a M pt who just doesn't feel right. When you arrive on scene, pt is sitting in a chair. Pt advises he went to use his microwave and couldn't remember how to do it. Pt advises the symptoms disappeared after a few moments and he feels back to normal besides a slight headache. Pt is A&O x3, his pupils are PERRL, the Cincinnati Stroke scale is negative. Pt denies any dizziness, blurred vision, SOB, CP,N/V. Pt's vitals are as follows: BP 136/78 P 90 R 16 SAO2 93%, BS 100. What is this pt most likely suffering from and how would you treat this pt? 3) You are dispatched to the house of a pt involved in an MVC earlier in the day that previously refused care. You AOS to pt laying on the floor. Pe's family advises she hasn't been acting like herself but wouldn't get checked out. Pt is now unconscious with irregular breathing at 9-10 times per minute. Upon checking a pulse you find it to be slow. Pt has obvious signs of raccoon eyes and battle signs. What most likely happened to this pt during the wreck that can take up to 24 hours to see signs and symptoms How would you treat this pt? Patient most likely suffered a shull fracture (basilar) in the wreck. PPV should be given to the pt Controlled hyperventilation at a rate of 20 ventilations a minute. Also take SMR precautions. Cover the nose or ears loosely with a Sterile gauze dressing to absorb but not stop the flowe. Protect against mucus in the mouth. Be prepared prepared for Seizures. Continuasly monitor the mental status and report art and document any deterioration. Transport immediately.
