Proeject: Deployment of ATM services in strategic
locations in the Accra Metropolis.
To coordinate and integrate information across project management
knowledge areas and across
the organization, there must be a good Project Management Plan. It
documents all project
planning and help guide the project team through the various
project activities. The Project
Management Plan is therefore an elaborative document constituting
several subsidiary plans
developed to cover each knowledge area. As part of this assignment,
you must select an IT-
related project (see examples provided below) to solve a problem
confronting a business,
community, or the state, and proceed to develop a Project
Management Plan to guide the
execution of the chosen project.
You must take the chosen project through the Initiation and
Planning stages, creating a Project
Charter – remembering among other things that the Project Charter
affords the opportunity to
assess the business case. Then, based on the Project Charter,
proceed to the planning
processes, while clearly demonstrating the management of the
following: Scope Management
and Schedule Management. You are expected to apply the range of
tools and techniques of
project management to your project activities.
Finally, you must produce a 1500-word technical report on the
project that details the following:
(i) The Project Charter (20%)
(ii) The Project Management Plan (20%)
(iii) Scope Management (30%)
(iv) Schedule Management (30%)
NOTE:
You are NOT expected to describe terminologies in project
management, or to explain any models or
frameworks in detail. Rather, your Technical Report must address
the specific needs and issues of your
chosen project, therefore, this assignment cannot be answered by
just reproducing or rephrasing extracts
from notes, the internet or textbooks as this assignment is
intended to test YOUR knowledge and
understanding of the indicative contents of the Course discussed in
class. You are, however, expected to read around the subject of
Project Management, hence, effective use of appropriate and
relevant research
examples will be rewarded
