You are a neurologist seeing 3 patients. Patient X was born blind due to congenital inoperable cataracts. Patient Y has sustained considerable damage to their visual cortex and is completely blind, despite having fully functional eyes. And patient Z has a rare neurodegenerative condition that has left them with bilateral amygdala lesions.
