1. solve all parts of this question, thank you
a.Draw a circuit with two lamps (R1 and R2) each with 20 ohms in series with each other but in parallel with two 10 ohms (R3 and R4) resistors in series each other. R4 is switched off, all others are switched on (show all switches). The emf is 120 V. Install a voltmeter to measure the total potential difference and an ammeter to measure the total current.
b. If R4 is switched OFF, which resistors will work?
c. What happens to the resistance, current and voltage of the entire circuit if R4 is OFF compared to when it is ON?
d. Find the total resistance of the circuit, R4 is still off.
e. Find the total current of the circuit, R4 is still off.
f. Find the total power used in W, kW and horsepowers (Hp). R4 is still off.
g. If these appliances (the ones that are turned on) are used for 3 hours a day for 30 days, what is the total energy bill if the cost is $0.15 / KWh?
