Question 1: (6+3+2+5+2+2=20 Marks) Given is a single-phase transformer with the ratings described in Table 1. Table 2 shows the data obtained after performing the open-circuit and short-circuit tests. Table 2 Table 1 Rated Apparent 1 kVA Open Circuit Test Short Circuit Test Power Rated Primary 110 V Voc = 70 V Vsc = 7.4 V Voltage Rated Secondary 220 V loc=0.59 A Isc = 8.75 A Voltage Rated Frequency 50 Hz Poc = 15 W Psc = 31 W a) Find the transformer parameters with the primary side referred to secondary side. A load is connected to the secondary side with rated secondary voltage applied to it. The load draws 75% of rated-current at a 0.9 lagging power factor. Use the approximate equivalent circuit; b) Find secondary current phasor. c) Find the primary current phasor. d) Find the efficiency of the transformer at these conditions. e) Calculate the voltage regulation at these conditions. f) Draw the phasor diagram for these conditions. short circuit 110 21-
