questions. (15 pts) Mt. Etna is Europe's most active volcano. It lies on the east coast of Sicily, Italy, in the city of Catania (seen in the foreground of the top picture), marking the boundary of the African plate and the overriding European plate. Mt. Etna has been continuously erupting since May 2019. The eruption has been both runny and mildly explosive, and has displayed breathtaking lava fountains, as well as more dangerous belching of lava bombs and ash puffs. The eruption was preceded by volcanic tremors and a thick column of ash emitted from the summit crater.
