Although roseroot occurs in southern Minnesota and western New York, it does not occur in Wisconsin, Michigan or Pennsylvania, even though apparently suitable habitat exists in portions of these states. Describe an experiment that would let you test whether roscroot is absent from these states because of dispersal limitation, and the results that you would expect if dispersal limitation is not the problem. Describe the treatments you would establish (including an appropriate control), the response variables that you would measure, and how you would otherwise meet the criteria of good experimental design. Remember to include (and use the results of) an appropriate control treatment. (6 pts)
