(a) In the figure below, a metal cube of length L = 0.5 m and mass 500 kg is suspended by a cable in an open tank of fresh water of density 1000 kg/m³. (i) Calculate the magnitude of a buoyant force on the cube. [1 mark] (ii) Determine the tension in the cable. [2 marks]
