Experiment 5: Conservation of Energy In this lab, you calculate height in two places of an inclined plane using a ruler in cm. Initially, a cart sitting at the top of the inclined plane with initial zero velocity. You have a photogate connected to the computer to measure the velocity of the cart when that reaches to the bottom of the inclined plane. You repeat this several time and calculate the average velocity. The velocity is extracted from a displacement time graph generated by the system. Use following information to calculate initial and final potential and kinetic energies. Initial height (h) = 45 mm; final height (h) = 31 mm; mass of cart (m) = 508 g; g = 9.8 m/s² Run Average velocity (m/s) 1 0.49 0.50 2 3 0.49 0.49 4 5 0.48
