Question 4 (100 marks) Agricultural drying usually involves the application of thermal energy. A grain dryer uses heated air to dry corn. The dryer is able to dry 2000 kg of wet grain per hour from an initial moisture content (wet basis) of m = 18.26% to the final moisture content of 12%. The ambient air temperature at the entry to the heater is T = 24.34°C, with 50% relative humidity. The hot drying air enters the dryer plenum at 50°C and exits at 35°C.
