Question 1 A 150 x 75 x 12 angle shown in Figure 1 is connected to a gusset plate using a E70XX 10mm weld. Using S355JR steel do the following. 1.1 Calculate the design tensile resistance of the angle. (15) 1.2 If the transverse weld is removed calculate the tensile resistance that will govern the design.
