OneSteel Section Type B = 100PFC
Part B - There are 3 questions in this part Refer to your email from Tim which defined values of the different variables. In particular refer to the OneSteel Section Type B given in the email. The cross section is changed so that the flange thickness is now doubled, but otherwise the total depth, width and web thickness stay the same, as per the diagram below. tf 24¢ given sech ↑ new section (not to scale) 1 14 M 2tp
Question / 2 pts Question B1 What is the horizontal location of the centroid (in mm) of the new section - as measured from the left edge of the web? Ignore the effect of the corner radii between the flange and web (ie assume all intersections are perfect right angles). Question 8 2 pts Question B2 What is the second moment of area of the new section about the horizontal centroidal axis (in mm4) ? Ignore the effect of the corner radii between the flange and web (ie assume all intersections are perfect right angles). You will not be able to enter your answer using exponential powers of 10 - eg if the answer is 3.456 x 106 you would need to enter 3456000.
